SPREAD LTTA5 - Quality in Mobility Projects in Salerno, Italy

Reflections upon my three weeks work experience with Europa Training

Tatjana is a student from Germany who recently spent three weeks in the UK on an Erasmus+ work placement programme with Europa Training in Plymouth with the host company SACSuk, read her refelections below:

Reflections upon my three weeks work experience at SACSuk. After a few teething difficulties during my first week due to my employer being away at a family funeral; the lesson's learnt was just how difficult it is to understand instructions and communications. However, the support from Europa (Charlotte) and my teachers was exemplary.

The second week I really started to get into the task set by David my supervisor. David showed me an overview of how his accounts were structured and compiled. David explained my task; is basically, forensic accountancy.

This is a big responsibility for me and illustrates just how much faith David has in my ‘limited’ abilities! However, over the next few days I really got to grips with his accountancy system.

By the end of my experience, I have learnt how to use Excel spread sheets, data entry, checking, reconciling (that's checking balances) the last nine years.

Everyone in the small studio was very nice to me and my language skills have improved. My favourite word is ‘disseminating’ which means to share information widely.

I'm sad that my time here is over and I will miss my newly made friends. The experience has been wonderful because of two reasons: firstly, the work placement, and secondly the British culture. The British are very polite and I have never talked to a bus driver back in Germany before!

Thanks for the Memories.
